Mercy for Animals is seeking a Finance Director. The role is based in Los Angeles, California or remote. This person will oversee the financial management of Mercy For Animals’ global operations through localized partnerships with accounting firms and regional staff; serve as primary liaison and workflow manager between staff, auditors, and accountants in the U.S. and Canada; and support senior leadership in financial planning and analysis, financial strategy, financial reporting, and budgeting while maintaining and improving internal controls. Specifically:
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze financial performance, and monitor cash flow for a budget of up to $16 million (revenue streams include membership and foundation support and individual and corporate giving in six primary countries of operation)
- Design, implement, and manage systems and procedures to support project planning, budgeting, and tracking to ensure reconciliation and compliance with financial policies
- Support international staff and accounting firms with best practices, troubleshooting, and monthly reconciliation
- Oversee U.S. and Canadian credit card accounts, manage transaction card flow, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable in partnership with MFA’s accounting firm
